1917 is an exceptional war movie. The story is intriguing and perilous, the story engulfs the viewers and grabs them by the hand, never letting go. I remember seeing it for the first time, wondering how it was filmed in one-take, because there were no cut or jump scenes, which makes the film feel like a real-life event, everything that happens, happens and takes on an aftermath, there are no jumps or pauses or skips. The scene by the barracks, where the small mine falls on the protagonists was totally dreadful. In my opinion, this is easily a flawless film; beautiful score, amazing acting, well written script and beautiful cinematography.
