I saw this movie some years back. Ray's work is absolute genious, and the Apu Trilogy is one of his best series. Although, I think among the three ''Pather Panchali'' is the best. When you get a chance you can watch Ghare Baire. Its a very good film as well.It is indeed shocking - I felt a jolt when I read the review and came to know that Sharmila dies while giving birth to their child, it is indeed shocking. I so much wanted to read them being united again after child birth and ..........The best film to come out of Indian cinema in a long,long time. Truly a gem and a masterpiece by India's best director.
