Anyone who gave this one star is mad because this is a real movie, not some campy Marvel CGI fest. There are real sets! The cinematography is fantastic. The fights are raw and gritty. There is moral ambiguity in Batman's role as a vigilante. This might be the best Batman EVER.
If you are into MCU garbage or previous DCU copying Marvel garbage, you might not like it. There isn't comic relief injected into every scene, there is almost no CGI, no one edited a mustache off of Bruce Wayne's face in post production. Nobody has magical powers. There is no campiness whatsoever. This is a movie for adults, not your kids. This is for the Batman fans that grew up. I always wanted to see Gotham depicted this way.
I really hope DC continues in this direction. Rather than copying the MCU formula, they are giving us a fresh perspective on how to depict comic book heroes in cinema.
Do watch if you loved Batman as a kid, but are a grown up now and are tired of thoughtless CGI action with no real plot complexity or character depth. Six stars.
