As a survivor of domestic violence, specifically narcissistic abuse, this movie is extremely triggering. It lacks consent, compassion and emotional intelligence. The writing is damaging because not one of the characters took responsibility for hurting another human being that they supposedly loved and cared for. Women are written with diminishing apathy and the fact that Elle chooses a manipulative narcissistic like personality is a socially alarming example for young people. How dare you use these flimsily written women with one dimensional personalities as a mouth piece for misogynistic ideals of grown men! It is so disappointing to see this on a platform as widely accessible as Netflix.
