After watching the first movie, my expectations were low, but wow. Wow.
It definitely felt like you had to watch the first movie and then watch this one directly after, because the characters and situations are so forgettable, we found ourselves hopelessly lost in the horrid storyline.
None of the characters, places, settings, or events were recapped or explained at all. Also, jarring, graphic, and unneeded, dragged out, way too long sex scenes happened every 10 minutes. It took us 20 minutes into the movie to figure out what the characters meant by "betrayal" and it wasn't even that big of a deal. I mean, clearly it wasn't, because 2 hours after meeting each other again they were having sex when the male lead's mother was outside the door.
I can barely recollect the plot of this movie. It was a blur of toxicity, sex scenes, and disgusting abusive traits labelled as "romance". This movie glorifies being in a toxic relationship just because the characters are "in love". Every character that isn't the Hardin's mom or Tessa's boss is actually sensible, because they want them to break up. Dylan Sprouse carried this movie, despite having about 10 minutes total of screen time. The only moment I genuinely enjoyed watching this movie, was when he walked into a glass door. Stunning. That was the only display of half-decent acting in the whole thing. Speaking of Dylan Sprouse's character; They made him seem like a nerd or a dork or someone that no one would want to have. I don't know why??? I mean, if they wanted a dorky, work-driven character, they should have cast someone different than an attractive actor like Dylan Sprouse.
Every character is dull and cliche. The lines are predictable, the "twist" in the last five seconds is just ridiculous. These two characters are horrible people and should both be placed far away from each other.
I recommend watching this movie only if you love to laugh at bad acting, horrible pacing (it was impossible tell how much time had passed between scenes), and a bad director trying to justify a toxic, abusive, God-awful relationship by saying "I love you" and making the characters have sex every ten minutes. I hope they make a third one so that they can just make the same movie again and the actors can get paid and we can all laugh at how disgusting it is. :)
