Disappointing!! The first season was fairly good. Yes, there were some definite plot holes but they weren't anything you couldn't get over...it is TV after all. Plus the quick stop and swirl car/motorcycle moments got very annoying. Then came the second season. Whaaaaaaaat??! The exact same storyline but soooooo much dumber. More than half of the characters should be dead, everybody points guns at everyone but never kills anyone, the people get stuck in the same situations they were in during the previous season, and frankly season 2 makes you kind of hate the girls, out of pure ignorance. It's really disappointing because it could've been good- A few of the actors are really good (like the woman that's an addict is pretty convincing) and it started out engaging. Check it out if you have nothing else to watch or don't think you're a paid TV critic, but don't go past the first season.

This a beautifully shot movie and should 100% be nominated for cinematography....but best documentary- not so much. I like National Geographic and watching nature because it's just about the nature and not trying to force a story. I was bored within 15 minutes. They never really tried to make you care about the octopus because they intercut the character build too much with the narrator. In fact, who was the protagonist- the octopus or the man? If you say the octopus, than why are we supposed to care about the man's feelings or his kid? If you say the man, than who cares about the predators coming after the octopus or if it even survives (that's nature)? After hearing SO MUCH about this movie, I couldn't have been more disappointed. Watch this for the visuals not because it has a compelling story.
