Unfortunately it was very biased and at times racist. Not objective as I was expecting. I was very disappointed and sad that my high school student had to read this.
UPDATE: I brought up my concerns with this book to the school’s principal. After he and the English department actually read the book they agreed it was inappropriate for high school students to read and removed it from the required reading list. No one under 18 should read this book. Very graphic, pornographic on several occasions
