"Madam Secretary" is one of the finest shows ever produced. The organic balance between the McCord's personal lives and their involvement with national politics never feels overly stagey or forced. The writing is consistently sharp and smart. All the actors, led by the amazing chemistry between Tea Leoni and Tim Daly, is moving and authentic. And the direction is inventive and fluid--a special nod to Eric Stolz who directed and appeared in many of the episodes. But the biggest applause goes to creator and show runner Barbara Hall who clearly crafted this series with her heart, unabashedly shaped by her own politics, but always with an eye that a TV dramas should be smart, engaging and moving. "Madam Secretary" is all of the above.
