The story line of the movie was very easy to follow along and had a dramatic ending ( which was expected). It also had a deep connection with people who suffer from
issues of abandonment as children. Unfortunately, the cultural aspect of the movie was missing. The city where everything took place was set up to be like Tokyo. It was more NY City vibes. All of the stores in this city were American. As well, as the actors, it was all americanized. In the movie description the goal is to “help people get a feel of the origin of pokémon” ( which is in japan ). Ultimately, I feel as if they could of made the movie more authentic to the roots of Pokémon and more diverse on their actors / actresses. Another issue was the acting, it was awful. The main character was obviously supposed to be an “awkward teen” but, he just wasn’t into character. Tim (the main character) was not very emotional expect scenes that involved damage happening to pikachu.
