So I just binge watched this…it started off so powerfully! The first two episodes are UNBELIEVABLY written, acted and directed. But unfortunately it just goes slowly down the tubes from there on. Hope Davis’s character needed to be a little more flawed and abrasive than what she was showing. She is a true believer in God but yet is the wife of a murdering crime family?! Which is fine but she should’ve been more repulsive in her demeanor…she should either be showing an inner struggle with her own demons and her faith. I love that the producers are showing their faith in Christ throughout the story plot but it’s OVERLY done and at times in injected when there’s no reason for it. After the 4th episode the characters and the pace of the story become mumble jumbled! It’s all over the place and neither character is pursuing their own truth to the plot line. The detective never gets more encouraged to figure out the inconsistencies she uncovered earlier like a detective would. What happened to the inhaler being tested for DNA results in the second episode and why didn’t he get the results back yet to Roccos father?! The actor playing Adam is very good but he doesn’t spiral out of control like he should be…every episode he should be feeling more and more guilty. Also…why isn’t Rocco’s sister showing any anguish at all?! Never one tear…even at the funeral!!! Her character talks about how much she misses her brother and how much it hurts her to know his dead but she smiles throughout the entire conversation…as if she’s giving her thoughts after seeing Disney on Ice?! It’s really good to see amazing great acting by great black actors but they needed to be a bit more harsh…they’re a little to nice to be that big menacing drug gang. Also…and to me biggest flaw of all in the entire production…where are the THICK Louisiana accents?! None of them sound like their from New Orleans…they all sound like their from Connecticut! So many things…but Bryan Cranston is incredible! I just love him…but it’s painstaking at times. But I give it a C-plus. The accident scene in first episode is worth watching the whole thing. That’s why you always where a helmet people when riding a motorcycle!!!!❤️
