Watched this years ago when I was like 8 years old. Inspired me to wanna be a pilot and be involved in the aerospace industry. The film however is not the most accurate if you are looking for factual events, but this is a movie not a documentary according to Chuck Yeager himself. This movie is one of the rare examples where I appreciate how they conveyed a message to entertain people but at the same time mostly fiction. A couple complaints I had is what they did to Gus Grissom during his flight, now it was 1983 before they found his spacecraft but Gus was not alive at the time to give his story sadly. Chuck Yeagers final flight in the NF104A also just portrays test pilots as reckless beings. He just takes off the jet with apparently "No clearance" but in reality it was a big deal. But again you may ask why 5 stars then? because I stated earlier you kinda have to go against history to make people love the film more, another example was Apollo 13. If movies like this were 100% accurate I doubt ill feel the same way. A childhood classic for me and may Chuck Yeager rest in peace.
