I saw the original when I was 11 at the drive in and I knew it was Romeo and Juliet but for my time with the same hatreds and fears and people who looked past all of that-people swept up in youthful passion listening to their hearts-nothing else. The 2021 version is just as good for today’s younger generations if they want honesty and drama and romance. Drop the comic book movies and for a couple of hours visit a place that’s contemporary for the 21st century even though it’s set in the ‘50s. It’s why great literature like Shakespeare is timeless because human beings are the same always no matter the decade or century. Open your eyes and minds-the movie is real life with a little magic-love-in the middle of a tragedy. Spielberg did a masterful job and made it more contemporary for younger generations. Rent the original too. It’s brilliant and of it’s time-1962. It’s is and isn’t the same movie. It depends on your generation.

The View offers intelligent, unpretentious opinions and legal expertise on newsworthy subjects though politics have been front and center most days now. I hope Megan is ok. I miss her input. One serious subject no one has talked about yet...porta potties for the unprecedented long lines during early voting and on Election Day. ABC find out what the democrats plan to do! It’s a fundamental, crucial consideration when you’re the one standing or sitting for hours waiting to vote and suddenly you have “to go”! How many people will be discouraged about voting because there are no potties? The Republicans have thought of this and I believe will try to use it to further suppress the vote. How? By banning them from myriad outdoor spaces. We must settle this issue now. And who better to discuss this pressing issue than the women of the View💋
