I've been playing this game off and on since a week after launch and I have mixed feelings about this game. Over the past 5 years or so I've been off and on with this game. For a good 5 years I played pretty much every day and paid for the subscription only as a matter of convenience(except for the time when subscribing was required) when simply buying what I want would have been cheaper. When this game was owned by Sony Online Entertainment(SOE), it was a much superior product and it was fun. It didn't feel like a grind. Players even made up their own fun(Fight Club at the top of Star Labs, faction battles at the safehouses, playing football with the moon rock in the lot next to the Metrodome, etc.). And being a hero or villain meant something.
Then something terrible happened. SOE sold to Daybreak. And while the game has their moments, it's the same old boring content. Each new episode plays like the one before, they just change the landscape and story but the objectives are the same. And it's no longer heroes vs villains. Those lines have been blurred. Now you do all content together. And PVP, which was prominent at launch is non existent now. They're even phasing out the Watchtower and Hall of Doom. Now everything happens out of The Hall of Legends.
All in all, it's still a fun game but it gets stale fast and sadly older content like the early Batman, Superman, & Wonder Woman raids are there but good luck getting others to do them with you and with the stat clamping of older and lower level content you can't even solo them just for fun. And the newer raids, even the non "Elite" you better have highly skilled players with you because you will not beat the instance. They've geared this game too much toward what I call "Uber Gamers". Casual gamers need not apply. I won't tell you not to try this out but once you're done leveling to 30, the game turns into a job. So, create a character, give it a bash, and enjoy yourself while you can.
I do need to add that one of the most annoying problems in chat are spammers. And the devs refuse to do anything about it and they put the onus on you to put the spammers on ignore but you have to do this on every character you have every day at sign on which is a hassle.
