Mary Trump delved into the private life of the Trump Family and shared many telling secrets. Donald Trump at a very young age had been conditioned in such a way to ignore failure at all cost, to be reluctant about expressing anything other than a smile, and to show his best face even when everything is falling apart according to Mary Trump. There was a treacherous side to her grandfather that obviously frightened them all. Overall it was eye-opening. In my opinion, what Mary Trump did was tell the story in such a way that made Donald Trump appear more human, relatable even, not as a public figure, more like a scorned child yet to recover. She humanized him in a way that has been absent thus far. I'll go so far as to say that I think that Too Much, Never Enough is an ode to Freddy, Mary Trump's father. It is written from a reflective place more than a place of active anger. Too Much Never Enough is not a dis more like a reconciliation, subtly saying I understand why my uncle Donald is like this.
“Donald isn’t really the problem at all… Donald has constantly been given a pass”.- Mary Trump
“His ignorance overwhelms his ability to turn to his advantage. The third national catastrophe to occur on his watch. An effective response would’ve entailed a call for unity, but Donald requires division. It is the only way he knows how to survive. My grandfather ensured that decades ago when he turned his children against each other”. - Mary Trump
