I am disappointed (I simply couldn't finish watching episode 5, because I repeatedly rolled my eyes). Just like I was disappointed, before this one, with Star Trek Discovery. Maybe I have a different dream than the current producers now have. But actually, it seems like I had more or less similar dreams with them, back at the Star Trek TNG and Star Trek Voyager...
Where are the thought-provoking science ideas in every episode? Back then, I took it for granted. Back then, I got something to ponder almost after every episode. And as a bonus, TNG and Voyager painted lovely pictures about what we can achieve someday.
Now, the food for thought is almost nowhere to be found. Picard looks like a shallow show that, for no good reason, happens sometimes in outer space. No deep and interesting scientific speculations. No reflective philosophical conversations. No "Inner Light"... The dream had gone with Discovery. And now I am afraid, that Picard is the nail in the coffin.
