Watching Winslet play this lunatic dictator is absolutely hilarious. Winslet brings a twisted facial affectation to her lips and mouth. (and those fabulous eyebrows!) The exaggerated look makes her silly and sort of mesmerizing. You can’t look away.
Winslet looks like she’s having the time of her life.
Such a comic genius.
The “Succession” crew meets “The Grand Budapest Hotel”? Was Wes Anderson lurking around the set somewhere?
The cinematography, landscape shots, wardrobe and set design are pitch perfect, although the Chancellor’s singing isn’t.
A great cast also makes this fascist farce a winner.
So much detail, so little time- I must watch again to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
