Don't listen to the hate is the first thing I recommend. The game plays great it has some rough spots but what new game doesn't. If you don't like the main game you can always play portal. It is a great addition that has maps from Bad Company 2, BF3, and 1942 with Conquest and Rush modes. Overall it's an awesome game. It's a bit different from a traditional Battlefield game but in my opinion it plays the same if not better.
