Two people, both struck by lightning, one nurtured, the other neglected, and how their lives are altered by this event - this is the premise, but nowhere close to an accurate representation of the brilliance of Minnal Murali. This is one of the best superhero movies I've seen in a long time. Fully embracing its small-town identity, the film brings the message and essence of a superhero (one who uses his powers for good) with humor, heart and wholesomeness. A hero's character arc is easy to develop, but the attention paid to the arc of the villain is where this story's genius truly lies. Best of all, it even nods to everyday heroes who don't possess superpowers at all. Music by Shaan Rahman and Sushin Shyam are absolutely fantastic. The acting, cinematography, special effects are thoroughly enjoyable. Great to watch with the family (with some PG for scenes involving violence).
