i was blown away by Carrie Coon's performance. It made me wonder why i'd never heard of her or seen her in other movies (she was in Gone Girl - but you would have hardly had noticed her). She's like a modern day katherine hepburn. If you don't like slow movies this isn't for you. It is rare when you get to see the pretences unravel and it's rare to see the rich struggling. At times you think this is horror movie but it's not. Carrie Coon really carried the movie and I couldn't take my eyes off her. Hope she gets bigger roles.

Never have i wanted someone to have a shower so much in my life. To be honest i wasn't sure what to expect watching the trailer, I thought it might be an all out revenge movie....but it was deep, simple and meaningful. There is a scene in a restaurant which really touched me. Recently i have been thinking about taking time off work...focusing on stuff I really love...and this scene hit me. Our time is precious so you need to care about things that mean something to you and do what is in your heart. Anything else is really superficial. Want to see Nic Cage do more of these sort of roles like Kevin Costner used to. I think this is a gem.

Terrifying, my legs turned to jelly at the top while watching this lying on a heated blanket in my bed at home. the bravery of these men, especially more so of Renan who had brain surgery and probably suffered a stroke while climbing. It shows what humans can do with determination and hard work. Just in awe and so beautifully filmed. How they filmed some of the starry mountain shots showing the lights of where they were is stunning.
