My wife and I have been watching the Bachelor franchise since the inception. This past season of Bachelor in Paradise has turned us totally off. First of all, we do not care what sexual preference a person chooses to have as long as two adults are consensual. Now I understand society is more liberal including our children, however I lean conservative and feel the show has changed the whole format. Two women showing their love on this show and constantly kissing each other on prime time television where children can be influenced by what they see shows little concern for those families. I understand love is love, so please don't make me into a bad guy for stating my feelings. Now lets point out other facts- 1) Hannah's Bachelorette season, Jeb had a girlfriend at home and he was attacked by many for this act. Demi was hugged and praised for having a girlfriend at home. She was even brought on the show where they could show their undying love. ( Double Standard!) You mean she did not know through a bachelor season and a season through Paradise that she did not know whether she wanted a man or woman. ( I find that hard to believe.) This was also not fair to Derek and ruined his time on Paradise. Now you can say Derek was not upset or was happy for her, but just maybe he knew he was on television and did not want to come across as anything but understanding. If this would of been a heterosexual couple, you would of never brought a partner on the show for the duration. What would of happened, both would of been sent home immediately which has been done in many past seasons. This is only my opinion and yes I am accepting of the gay community, and even have a step son who is gay and married that we love very much. So if you want to push the envelope, why not have a same sex Bachelor season.
