It's amazing, amazing sound design and a world that keeps you guessing, I especially love the casting options of minor characters like John Smith and Cassandra, they really build the perception of how weird the Visser is - Some of the writing is a bit corny but even in popular found footage horror like Blair Witch Project you are left thinking the characters could have been smarter about their decisions. I'm a bit confused as to how Melody and Dan communicate through their dreams from different years, and how that leads to Dan deducing that she's in the otherworld, but hopefully we find out a little more on that in Season 2. I'm interested to know if there was a ritual attempt made by Dan's dad at their house, resulting in the fire, as his sister has clearly came into contact with tapes/mould since she knows the prayer.
