Samantha May – Google

Wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. I was a bit confused by the 25% rating on RT (not that RT is reliable), it's a solid 6/10 and a perfectly adequate "people trying to run away from things trying to eat them" movie, with a rather creepy post Armageddon cult-like gang. I am also happy to watch Stanley Tucci in anything! I don't expect much from movies like this, but I like to think B grade sci-fi movies can still be enjoyed. It's no Quiet Place, but not as terrible as people made out. If I want a monster movie I can take seriously I have The Descent.

So fantastic - I haven’t ever enjoyed an Australian tv show, or laughed so much at one either. It’s intelligent with some dark humour, has an element of social commentary thrown in, and captures all the kind of characters you would be likely to meet outside of major cities in Australia, and makes fun of them (while humanising them at the same time). It also masters that delicate art of making extremely unlikable characters likeable. A perfect showcase of Australian humour and talent :)
