As a fan growing up with the games & enjoying the lore of the MK universe I really enjoyed the movie. It can seem a bit slow at times but I find this acceptable given the movie's build up to a sequel. For newcomers it may not be enough backstory to fully understand the larger picture that will unfold (hopefully) in the following films. However the fight scenes are fantastic, showing off some of the special abilities of the warriors, the dark atmosphere is projected nicely, & the tid bits of humor are a nice touch. Imo a much better experience than the MK film of the mid 90's. Will watch it again in theaters this weekend.
