All I have to say is wow. Did not have high expectations but the movie would’ve broke those expectations even if I had them. The animation was top notch and the plot unfolded at a good pace. It was nice to finally get some more screen time of the still very mysterious shanks. I quite enjoyed every moment of the story and found myself laughing, amazed and even tearing up at times. However, that’s no surprise as Oda was the executive producer, character designer and even script reviewer for the movie and you can feel that through how perfectly everything is in the film. Hopefully One Piece Film Red is as successful as the great storyline deserves to be and goes into anime film history.
