I think people are being hyper critical of the show! It looks great, sounds great, and has an awesome cast. Why not give it a chance to unfold it’s amazing story. I listened to the books on cassette as a young boy and it was one of the few times that I was fully taken into a world through my imagination. I have always held this series close to my heart and I was a little nervous about the new HBO adaptation... after watching the first episode I’m very excited to see the rest of the season. It’s close enough to the series so far to keep me happy! I think that it’s unrealistic to expect a show to be exactly like the books or a character be portrayed with all the fine details you got while reading. We as fans of the books should just be happy with the fact that someone in television wanted to even make another adaptation. So we need to as fans encourage others to watch and get a glimpse at the work we enjoyed so much so that hopefully they can experience the same!
