Great movie! Do not expect slapstick humour. This movie will make you squirm because it is so real and relevant.
Julia Louise-Dreyfus really shows her brilliance as an actor. The emotions she was able to convey through expression and body language were palpable. This is not a feel good funny movie although there is great humour found by Will and Julia in the pitfalls of family life and a failing relationship spurred by mid life crisis. Will Ferrell played the self absorbed jerk Dad in need of schooling really well.
The directors did what they intended. The ending was just okay, need a tweak somewhere.
I think that Hitchcock could have done a cool thriller with this plot.
