These actors had to be more aware at that time. I was. I would have turned down the script on the basis of sexism, ( even Streisand is guilty). The worst sexist traditions validated over and over again in every scene.

Lot's of factual weaknesses in the plot. It makes me think the writers didn't do their homework For instance. One half of a marriage cannot take second mortgage out on a house less the other person shows ID and signs. Duh!

Who are these people? Certainly not from any homes I know of.

This should be read by the writers. In the second year when Infinity demands 15 points of conservation, she does so with the biggest glossiest plastic on that she wears in a few scenes. It just ruined the meaning of her request and made the show look like it was written for fools. Also, there are other weak plot spots in the second year. The first season was sparkling, the second falls short.

This is the worst example of low self-esteem women who only value themselves if a man likes them. It is exaggeratingly absurd in its chauvinistic treatment of women and its stereotyping of their behavior. These women have no depth or character and it's embarrassing to watch. It's like a time warp back to the 1950s before the feminist movement. I am amazed that it was made in 2012. The writer and director have their heads up their ass.

Of course, Jack London! Who else could create such great Western tales.

I think this movie is trying too hard because it does not have a good story. The directer must have known each scene needed something; but women who get together, who are close friends do not do cheers. It's phony from start to finish.

This movie reinforces every cliche about weight and beauty in our society. Did no one in this movie go through the revolution about gender/beauty in the70s? It teaches nothing true. It romanticizes everything as a coverup. Being fat is a medical condition. The real lesson about the condition simply isn't there. I have a friend who is dying due to this condition, and her death will not be easy. Maybe not feeling good about yourself is your brain telling you to seek a path to health. It's hard but it's possible.

This is a vey realistic movie that centers on an intelligent, artistic couple obsessed with having a child. Their lives are tense, but the people in the movie treat each other with respect and love. There is a slowness in it that feeds the story, and adds to the audiences ability to understand the characters. It reminds me of French movies.
