Compelling, intricate and intelligent and complicated. Develops slowly and purposefully- be patient! Thank God it’s not your typical American rush job full of ridiculous action scenes and superficial relationships. It challenges the viewer to pay attention, to care about the characters, and the choices they make to survive both personally and politically. The acting is nuanced and wonderful to behold. The mystery deepens as it unfolds- true to Le Carre. If you want it simple, predictable and easy, move on to Network TV- if you long for depth of character, beautiful acting, intelligent script, and thoughtful, unexpected, complicated story dynamics at every level- stick with this production! I for one am so appreciative that there are television companies now willing to risk producing shows like this the past few years- enjoying it immensely!
