An extraordinary film that pushes the genre of psychological thriller, and comic book movies, leaps forward. Sure, there's controversy, but that's what comes when you hold a shockingly realistic, ugly, mirror, up to our society. A character study like I've never quite seen before. That said, of course I do not condone many of the actions of Arthur/Joker, but I also understand him, the film makes me understand him, and it does not feel like glorification one bit. It's simply the ugly truth, placed bare before us.
