I gave this 'quiz' a go at the weekend, just to see if the criticism is justified. Well, that's half an hour I'll never get back, it was excruciating in the extreme. Like many of the other reviewers, I have watched the show since its inception and not always agreed with the changes made, but at least there was some consistency in the format. The lamentable Paddy McGuinness is completely out of his depth in this latest reincarnation, mainly because he's just not funny anymore. His presenting skills are negligible and he's just not got enough knowledge to host such a quiz. The contrast with the very professional and engaging Sue Barker is palpable. But, of course, we all know why she was ditched. Ugo Monye has no discernible personality and is lacking in sporting knowledge too, so why is he there? At least Sam Quek has a personality and a more rounded knowledge of sport, but that does not compensate for the other two nonentities. The so-called producers and managers think this new format will appeal to younger viewers - it won't. Young viewers watch very little terrestrial TV and would not give this execrable nonsense a second look.
