I have loved the book series for years. I was first introduced to the franchise through the 2014 film and was devastated that it did not carry on making the films. However once I read the books I understood why fans were upset and so producers did not carry on. When the first season of Shadowhunters aired I was excited to see how the adaptation would bring to life the franchise. Yet, I was disappointed, it was not to the books and once again strayed too far. The script was poor and the acting at the beginning was not the best. It did improve as it went on but I couldn’t bring myself to actually finish the second season because of how different it was to the books which I had grown to love so much!! I can only hope that in the future an adaptation will be made where it will stick to the true story that Cassandra Clare wrote so beautifully!
