I am really into forensic science. I am fascinated with human remains to be specific. I know it's morbid, but it's super interesting to me how old the body decomposes in different situations. It's also super interesting that the body can help lead investigators to solve a case no matter how long ago it happened. So, when I found the show bones I was super excited because the main plot is exactly what I'm interested in. The characters look at human remains and piece together a story. This includes how the victim died, who they are, and when. in real life, this can take months, years, or even decades. In this show, cases are solved within a day or two. and not only that, but it's mainly the forensic anthropologist that solves the cases rather than private investigators, consultants, detectives, police, etc. it is so unrealistic that I cannot even get immersed into most of the plots. each episode is rushed, forgettable, and insanely frustrating. The technology used in the show is so fake and unbelievable that I can't help but laugh at it most of the time. The artist, Angela, is able to create animations depicting COD scenarios within seconds and can sketch how the victim looks within 30 minutes. This is the most ridiculous part about the show because it makes it seem like this job is easy. Like I said before, this process can take decades. I think the purpose of these shows is to be able to immerse their audience. and it's not just bad because the technology is fictitious. Look at Star Wars, everything about that movie is science-fiction yet people are still able to get immersed in the plots. That is because it is well written and obvious that it's purely fiction. Bones tries to be realistic , Which in my opinion, is confusing because mostly all of the tools and technology they use can easily fit into a science-fiction movie. You have to choose one or the other if you don't want to put effort into the writing. It is possible to mix science fiction and reality but bones fails to do this properly. so the result is a horrible show. In fact, most of the fictitious technology is there because the show needs to be rushed. there is no excuse for this. Look at law in order, Monk, etc. they all have episodes that run the same length as bones yet the episodes aren't rushed at all. The writers give the audience a chance to fully understand what they're watching and become interested in it. to be honest, I don't understand why bones lasted as long as it did and why anyone can continue to be a fan of it. It fails to be entertaining and is definitely not a show I recommend to anyone
