2/5 Would watch it again just for laughs
I love my hero academia but honestly I think my expectations were too high for this movie. It's a bit harsh to say that the movie was laughable but there were a few times when I wanted laugh at scenes that were intended to be tense or serious.
I don't want to spoil too much for people who are planning to see the movie but I'm just going to say that it honestly doesn't matter if you watch the movie or not since it just feels like a filler.
The movie was too predictable and honestly didn't feel like it's contributing to the plot at all. During the fight scenes I can't say that I was on the edge of my seat worried about the heroes because , like I said it was too predictable and I could already guess how the movie was going to end. Half way through I was even hoping that what I thought was going to happen wouldn't happen, but of course it did. I was hoping that they did it on purpose to build up to something unexpected but even after the end credits they didn't add an extra scene. The movie was too 1 dimensional and didn't get me hyped up season 5 at all.
In my opinion it felt like there was no point to the movie since it didn't show any of the main villains and doesn't seem to be contributing to season 5 at all. It was honestly laughable. The animation was fine but the art style would change at important scenes and completely throw me off. The fact that it was so predictable made me enjoy the movie less.
It was disappointing and completely one dimensional to the point where I wished the villain won just so that there would be more, or at least get me hyped for season 5.
There is so much more I want to say about the characters' roles, the villain and so on but I don't want to go into depth.
