If you're a person who is faint of heart, especially whenever it comes to harming children, I strongly recommend you find something else to watch. For serious. This documentary is about child murder. Don't force yourself to endure the pain of learning about how a father murdered his kids.
If you're someone like me, who enjoys watching true crime and will stay up all night watching Netflix's latest docuseries even though it's disturbing, you're gonna love it. Let me explain.
This entire movie wasn't filmed. Like, not with a script, staged scenes, and editing to try and make it look current (Don't F*** With Cats - which is also a really good watch and if you haven't done it yet go and do it - I'm looking at you). It was filmed real time, as everything was going on. Real videos that were posted on social media, real footage from police cams and buildings, REAL NEWS BROADCASTS. Well, okay, it's easy to find news broadcasts to use in documentaries. But the other things! Are real!
The interviews, pacing, the freaking RESEARCH that some poor soul had to do to gather all of that footage? That's so many good things! Wanna know the cherry on top? The story is good.
Are there more important documentaries we should be watching? Absolutely. This is nothing more than a fun little thing that you can learn about. But for the type of documentary it is, it's a good watch. A really good watch.
