As a long time Assassins Creed player and fan, I've actual been very underwhelmed with this latest iteration. Despite the many great reviews the game has garnered, I've not yet seen the hype. Yes the graphics are nice when they're working properly and storywise it's decent, but the game play itself is subpar compared to previous games. It's understandable there may be a few technical glitches, some of which the developers have attempted to hot fix, but constantly having to travel back multiple save points after dying or from simply coming back from taking a break, it diminishes the interests of wanting to play further. I mean, who wants to keep playing the same parts over and over again.
Even my wife, who isn't an avid gamer but was able to find her niche with Assassins Creed feels that this one has taken a step back from Odyssey despite Valhalla's potential.
All in all, I do hope they make some adjustments to the game play soon, otherwise this one may just end up collecting dust on the shelf.
