I liked this movie for it portrayed the spectrum of German thought on Nazism. You have the fanatic loyalists, the loyal Germans who love their country but hate Nazis, and you have Germans who because they are Jewish, hate Germans and Nazis. The acting was good but I always hate films in which the actors don’t speak the language, German, but speak German with an English accent. Sort of ruins the authenticity. Finally, I was puzzled by the Allies need for rubber. The British Empire in India and other locales had access to rubber and the Americans had access to rubber in the Americas. The core theme of the movie to get their hands on rubber, therefore, seems illogical. The Germans had synthetic rubber by 43 but still had great demand beyond what their science could produce. Overall, a good to greatish movie worth seeing if for no other reason that it’s full of the greatest actors of the 60s!

Season 1; 5 stars. Season 2; 2 stars. The reason was the change in actors for the lead of Kovacs. The Season 1 Kovacs was a better actor. He lived the part. It felt real. A view could actually care whether he lived or died. Season 2 Kovacs, not a good actor. Very wooden. His facial expressions were limited to angry. He couldn’t pull the part off and in the end I stopped watching as I didn’t give a damn.

When you have to look up on Wikipedia the plot of the film then it’s not very well written. Another of the current generation of films which no longer seek to entertain or allow for escapism and fantasy but an indoctrination film that pounds certain Leftist idioms down the viewer’s throat. I gave it two stars for the videography which I thought was quite well done. Now if they had matched that background with a decent story line, this may have been a decent film.

The series ended poorly but it ended where one would expect it would based on the downward slope of the storyline. The show was at its best when Lucifer and Chloe were solving crimes and Lucifer was, well, a devil. At the end, Lucifer was a hen-pecked husband without a backbone and all sensitive. The show began without too much “wokeism” which made it a delightful surprise from the rest of Netflix’s: Christians are evil and LGBQT are great people without any issues. But in the end, Netflix bowed cowardly to the woke crowd and we had: ALL of LAPD is crooked (no lie, that was Chloe’s new job); as mentioned above Lucifer went from bad boy to typical California, spineless, soy boy, mensch. Add in the “ain’t it lesbianism great” and “the root of all evil are white men = Adam,” and you pretty much have a woke triple crown. I’m glad the show ended (it should have ended at the end of season 4). Ever wonder how a show which has the devil, God, archangel Michael, Adam and Eve and a whole celestial host would leave out Jesus, you know, the main character in the New Testament, worshiped by 1.3 B people on this earth (and growing) and even recognized by Muslims as a major prophet, received not one mention? Typical anti-Christian bigotry. Reminds me, I’m dropping my score to one star.

This movie is bad. Bruce, my how my idol has fallen. The CCP must have paid you a bundle to star in this stinker. The movie is just corny and predictable and even Bruce Willis’s star power can’t save this stinker and I love Bruce Willis! Pretty good cinematography. Surprisingly open for a Chinese Communist Party production. It shows Americans and Christianity in a positive light (must have gotten past the party censors). I gave it the second star because it does show the brutality of the Japanese in China a historical fact that is often over shadowed by Nazi Germany’s brutality in Eastern Europe. For the benefit of the graduates of the American public school system, which no longer teaches history (or is it her/gender neutral-story now?), the Japanese invaded China 3 years before Germany invaded Poland and 5 years before Pearl Harbor (ask your grandfather or google it) and massacred civilians by the 10’s of thousands (see “rape of Nanking”).

Watched the first two. Not bad. What I don’t understand how minorities can play roles that in that historical context would be odd or non-existent (the English upper society did NOT mix socially with minorities; a white girl and an Asian girl are sisters to the same mother; the Duke of Winchester is an African, etc...) and it’s acceptable. Yet, if this was a show set in the context of Asia and white actors played roles of Asian characters the howl from the “woke” mob would be loud. So its not okay to acculturate Asian or African cultures but no problem doing the same to European culture? Did I miss the memo that stated racism can never be applied against whites? For that reason, I give the show two stars. Not bad actors but does not mesh with late 19th century London at all.
