Keeping in mind that it was a Film(inspired and manipulations made) and meant for entertainment purposes. I would rate it as a 4/5. If you want to judge Sanjay Dutt's life based on it and question every thing shown, please be informed that here he has shown his side of the story. What I understood is that he did not put the blame on the media for all the wrong decisions that he took in his early days of life (as most of the people are saying that he tried blaming the media for his involvement in the Mumbai blast cas), I think he tried showing that all the incorrect info published on him had a great impact on his kins and family or precisely his family and personal life.
Ranbir Kapoor was nowhere found on screen. It seemed like we were watching Sanjay Dutt on screen.. Sunil Dutt as a father was so so understanding and his love for his family and especially his wife and son was well depicted. Every character in the film was high on their acting skills and we're phenomenol. Vicky Kaushal was too good and I wish all have a friend like Kamli in their lives. What I loved the most in the story was that though it was a biopic and based on real characters no female in Dutt's life except Manyata was clearly shown and that was the best part as no one was exposed or brought into light. It was smartly written. Music was very ear soothing and Ruby Ruby is my favourite.
Overall please watch it for Ranbir Kapoor and the story telling. Again please do not judge Sanjay Dutt's life on this basis. Neither was he glorified nor saved from all the wrong things he did.
