Though Oedipus Rex (1967) does have its merits, it is difficult for me to say it was worth the watch. The story was interesting; however, I felt as if though not all moments were told with proper time and effort. As an inspiring filmmaker myself, it is essential to watch all types of movies. In spite of that, after viewing this film, I am left feeling as if though there are far better works from this decade to learn and study from. In fact, I would even be inclined to say giving this film such attention is a little - if not entirely - pretentious.
