Honestly even a year ago with release dates set I really thought this was a project that would never actually be released, and right now I wish it hadn't. I first played FF7 in '99 when I was 7 and I still consider it my favorite game of all time but, this is not a remake. The majority of this game is spent on hours of useless backstories for unnecessary characters and mind numbing dialogue. Visually, the game is incredible and I do genuinely enjoy the combat system, though I was really hoping for a traditional turn-based option, but there just doesn't seem to be enough of it. They replaced the grind of combat with a grind of story and cut scenes, and it is brutal. I'm not trying to troll, I've been dreaming of and anticipating this game for 15 years and I understand with my level of hype it could have never exceeded my personal expectations however it has taking me 2 weeks to realize how much this really let me down.
