Although a bit dated, this analysis of a child's reading is really useful. It offers text that gets increasingly more difficult, and a comprehension task that also informs the tester about how much information the reader being tested is absorbing as they decode unfamiliar texts. If using it for a one to one assessment of decoding, to my mind it still has a value as an instrument to structure observations and assessment.
