I very much like both Adam Driver, and Marion Cotillard. And I am a self professed cinephile . But I kept waiting for this self indulgent film to get the least bit entertaining, mesmerizing or at least watchable. With fading hopes I watched until the bitter end. Really disliked it. Gave it 2 stars for the actors’ valiant efforts and commitment to their roles.

Yes, I (eventually) watched all 9 episodes. Yes, I had to see what (if anything) was going to happen. But around episode 5, the pace had become so mind numbingly slow, and dull that I stopped watching it for a week. I just finished season 1. I love the actors, and there was finally a payoff in episode 9. Now that the pace and plot have picked up, I hope Season 2 keeps it up and maybe doesn’t need as many episodes?
