It's a great show that appeals to the reality of modern day society and its issues Even though the show was set in the late 20th century, especially in Atlanta. I feel like a lot of the people giving negative reviews simply found themselves in an uncomfortable situation. It’s funny, witty, emotional and real. I enjoyed it very much.

The new Color Purple is excellent. Love everything about it. The story, the music, the acting is superb. They tweaked it a little but the iconic scenes were preserved perfectly. Of course with modern day film technology, the picture is even better. I love it ❤️

In my 30+ years of watching movies in the big screen, this is the first time I ever walked out of a movie theatre. Complete waste of time. The movie simply failed to reach a climax. The horror factor was disappointing to say the least. First hour of the movie you wonder what the hell are they trying to show you. Good performance by Maise Williams. I feel bad for her for being part of such total rubbish. She’s better than this
