Downright tragic. Modern Nic Cage is usually reliable for a bunch of nonsensical yelling amidst over the top violence, but both are rare in this boring film that tries in vain to be more than it is. A "twist" you'll see coming a mile away and pathetic attempts at sentimentality make you long for the end credits.
