Mamma Mia meets Cinderella...and not in a good way. Some charming moments but a lot of very cringeworthy ones which made it difficult for me to sit through. The fairy godmother stole the show imho. Definitely not what I expected. I actually found the use of diversity, female empowerment messaging, gender and other stereotypes to be very contrived and cliched which actually put me off when it should have had the opposite effect! Will stick to the Disney animated classic or 2015 remake.
