I never write reviews, but seeing how poorly received this film was by Americans, I felt inspired to post. American critics, you just don't get it. Sorry but not everything is made for you and your short attention spans. Eurovision is truly hilarious if you understand where it's coming from, and even if you don't, it's worth watching just for the outstanding performances from everyone in the film, and the comically loving treatment of Icelandic folk. In particular, fans of Downton Abbey will be rewarded by seeing the incomparable Dan Stevens playing the part of a closet-gay Russian pop star belting musical-theatre style operatics to some of the most ridiculously cheesy lyrics ever written. Every moment of this film is gold. Thank you, Will Ferrell!
