This is a vintage film from 1980 that explores what would later be known as the "Nuremburg Defence", i.e. the perpetrators were just obeying orders when they executed unarmed prisoners of war. It is set in the Northern Transvaal region of South Africa during the Second Anglo-Boer War 1899 - 1902, in which soldiers from the Commonwealth of Australia served the British Empire in their war against the Boers (Farmers of Dutch descent). The eponymous subject has become a kind of Australian folk hero. The film is raw and gritty and vividly conveys the atmosphere of the period as three condemned men hopelessly carry out their own struggle for justice against the British Army, embodied by Field Marshal Lord Kitchener himself. Recommended for all history buffs who should find this lesser known incident intriguing. Liuetenant Morant was also an accomplished poet and the film is liberally sprinkled with recitations from his works, A true commemoration of a regrettable and ruthless conflict that ripped the heart out of the British Empire and helped set the scene for the First World War.

The NWT is an anonymous translation which immediately raises suspicion as nobody can be held responsible for the work. It is a heavily biased translation and even replaces the words of scripture with the Watchtower Society's own peculiar doctrines. An example of this is Genesis 1:2 where the NWT reads "God's active force" instead of "the Spirit of God" to bolster their teaching that the Holy Spirit is not God Himself. Jesus informs us in John chapter 4 that "God is a Spirit" and 2 Corinthians 3:17 tells us "now the Lord (Jehovah) is that Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord (Jehovah) is there is liberty". Despite Jehovah's Witnesses gushing over the superiority of the NWT to any other translation orthodox accredited scholarship views it as an aberrant translation. The WTS is notorious for misquoting sources and they even claim scholars endorse their "work". These men have publicly disavowed their alleged endorsement showing the Society to be liars, Dr Julius S Mantey described it as a "reprehensible" if not "demonic" paraphrase not even deigning to call it a translation. Drs Bruce Metzger and William Barclay also criticiized it as a viable translation. It is so literal that in parts it is meaningless and it reads as a wooden and awkward text. The Society had to produce this translation in order to support their strange doctrines which deny the Holy Trinity of God, the Deity of Jesus Christ our Lord, His vicarious and atoning death for all sinners that believe in Him, His death on a Roman crux, His bodily resurrection and ascension to heaven, the Personality and Deity of the Holy Spirit and so on. From the Kingdom Interlinear Translation it is possible to discern how they have twisted the text to their own ends. As they preach another gospel to that which the Apostles preached in the NT - i.e. that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, was buried and rose again the third day according to the scriptures they are accursed. They are further accursed by adding and detracting from the words of scripture per Proverbs 30.

That Jesus Christ died on a pole not on a cross 9. That Jesus CXhrist did not bodily rise from the dead. 10. That the Holy Spirit is not God but Jehovah's active force. 11. That Jesus Christ began reigning in heaven in 1914. 12. That in 1919 Jesus Christ chose the WT organisation to be God's faithful and discreet slave and is therefore God's organisation ....Amongst many other erroneous doctrines such as receiving a blood transfusion will ensure you are destroyed at Armageddon....Beware false doctrines and controlling sect.
