This is by FAR the most boring book I have ever read. This is the kind of book that is only right for a very small niche of people. I was unlucky enough to have this assigned to me for an essay four years ago. I hated it so much that I still remember the name of the book, but of course next to nothing about the story except for how abysmally boring it was.
I distinctly remember trying my absolute hardest to brute force read through sentence after sentence of mind numbing writing. I cannot fathom that anyone's daily life is less interesting than what is discussed in this book. I would rather go into solitary confinement for a whole month than read this book. I cannot stress enough how incredibly boring this book is. Every sentence I read made me want to throw the book away and yell "I DON'T CARE". Pages and pages would pass without anything even remotely interesting happening.
I cannot even fathom the demographic that this book reaches today. This is four years after I read it, and I still have a burning hatred for this book. Different strokes for different folks. I am going to stick to not reading books from over two centuries ago, especially if they just cover extremely boring lives of girls in the 19th century trying to get married.
