I have read the whole series but Rebel of the Sands is the book which hooked me in and blew my mind. Absolutely amazing to read; the exposure to a new culture (the first time I read it), the strong plot and characters, the amazing storytelling which is heightened by the use of simple non-overly fancy big words, making this book even more of a treat to read- it just allows you to crack on with getting carried by the wonder-infused pages. A brilliant, brilliant book! Definitely recommend!

This book started well for me; loved the multiple perspectives, loved the plot and was able to appreciate the majority of characters stories. There were some slow dragging moments, like Nina's pov, which I found to be disconnected to the rest of the book but overall it was consistently good. However it was absolutely overshadowed by the rushed and simply cliché ending, leaving me even more plaintive then the storyline itself. I won't be reading the next one, I'm personally so fed up of being disappointed by the GrishaVerse.
