Dr. Aron's research and previous education on the nature of highly sensitive persons (via book, web link, and first movie) has been extremely helpful. HOWEVER, contrary to the first movie explaining what a highly sensitive person is, this second film "The Highly Sensitive Person in Love is a COMPLETE DISSERVICE to HSPs.
Rather than give objective information, as in her first film, this is more like an extreme docu-drama. The casting, dialogue, and scenes were horribly misguided. From the get-go, HSPs are portrayed as over the top, clingy, needy persons or as the one cast member sneers, "losers." Quite frankly, it was shocking to see this depiction of HSPs which was quite damaging and not at all accurate or informative. Initially, one wonders, "Why don't these people go t a 12-Step meeting?" or "Who the hell would want to be around someone who cries at the drop of a hat and holds onto bad relationships?" "Or is a drifter, without any focus in life?"
The once high regard I had for Dr. Aron has dropped with a confounded understanding of what the hell was she thinking when making this film? bottom line: don't waste your money and definitely don't watch it with someone you are trying to teach about HSPs. This film was sickeningly unreal.
