Just because you have no budget doesnt mean the audience cant see that you are purposefully not showing the "monster" at all costs. A scene where the characters are sitting in a tent for 10+ minutes was probably the most boring and disappointing scene I have ever seen. Sure you can go for a different style where the monster is allusive, but it really wasn't. Instead it chose to walk on every stick in the vicinity just so you could tell it was there. This really was a pile of hot garbage.
